-u (uniqueDir) will once again use the full file path specified by the
client instead of truncating it. This was caused by a broken sprintf
which was trying to read/write overlapping buffers.
From the glibc sprintf() documentation:
"The behavior of this function is undefined if copying takes place
between objects that overlap"
